Staff Officer cum Instructor
Total vacancies: 125 Nos. (UR- 67, SC- 28, ST-08, OBC-A -13, OBC- B- 09).Eligibility:
1. The applicant must be a citizen of India.
2. Educational qualification: The applicant must have a Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its Equivalent.
3. Language the applicant must be able to speak, read and write Bengali language. However, this provision will not be applicable to person who are permanent resident of hill Sub-division of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts. For applicants from hill sub-division of Darjeeling and Kalimpong District, the provisions laid down in the West Bengal official language Act. 1961 will be applicable.
Age limit: The applicant must not be below 20 years and not more than 39 years as on 01.01.2019.
Upper Age relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC and ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates of West Bengal only. Upper age limit is also relaxable up to 2 years for Government Employees. Departmental candidate having requisite qualification shall be eligible to apply for the post of Staff Officer cum Instructor subject to the condition that they fulfill eligibility criteria.
Minimum Physical Standard: must have a minimum Physical Measurement as mentioned below-
For Male candidate: Male candidates of all categories (except Gorkha, Rajbangshi, Garwalise and Scheduled Tribes) height 167 cm, chest 78 cm with a minimum expansion of 5 cm, weight proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
Male Gorkhas, Rajbangshi, Garwalise and Scheduled Tribes height 160 cm, chest 76 and with minimum expansion of 5 cm weight proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
For Female candidate: Female candidate of all categories (except Gorkhas, Rajbangshi, Garwalis and Scheduled Tribes) height 160 cm, weight proportionate to height and age as per medical standard.
Female Gorkhas, Rajbangshi, Garwalis and Scheduled Tribes- height 152 CM, weight proportionate to height and age as per medical standard
Must qualify the following physical Efficiency Test:
For male candidates 800 metres Run within 3 minutes, for female candidates 400 metres Run within 2 minutes.
Not Physically Handicapped candidates shall not be eligible to apply.Method of Recruitment :
The post of Staff Officer cum Instructor in Civil Defence Organisation West Bengal under the department of Disaster Management and Civil Defence, Government of West Bengal shall be filled up through open competitive examination comprising of 4 (four) stages. A candidate is eligible to appear in the next stage only if he/she passed through the previous one. The stages are a) Preliminary examination, b) Physical measurement test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), c) Final competitive examination and personality test.

How to apply: Application Window for submitting application through online or downloading of offline application form with printed challan of United Bank of India /India Post will remain operative for the period from 24.11.2019 (12:00 a.m.) to 24.12.2019 (5:00 p.m.). However the last date of depositing application and/or processing fee only in respect of online applications using United Bank of India challan will be 27.12.2019 (5:00 p.m.).
No application shall be received after the last date and time of submission of applications. Hence the application are strongly advised to submit their applications well in advance without waiting for the last date and time of submission to avoid delayed submission due to server problem or any other technical faults, including Postal delays.

Candidates must pay application fee of Rs.270/- (Rs.20 for SC and ST candidates of West Bengal only) fee can be paid through online mode during submission of online application form by using debit/credit and/or net banking or can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment challan.
